KOM connects refugees with a variety of social services to help refugees meet their basic needs and integrate into the community. Through this program, KOM Family Assisters help refugees with housing assistance, child care enrollment, access to health care and food support, secondary resettlement support, bus training, and more.

KOM is part of the Metro Refugee Resettlement Network, along with four partner agencies. KOM, Afghan Cultural Society, Oromo Community of Minnesota, Confederation of Somali Communities MN, and Guadalupe Alternative Programs (GAP) work together to serve new arrivals from a variety of backgrounds. KOM’s staff working with new arrivals speak English, Karen, Karenni, Dari, Pashto, and Urdu.
