KOM does not provide immigration law services or citizenship assistance. For immigration service needs, we put together a list of local agencies that accept referrals.

Immigration Services

  • Arrive Ministries – provides the following legal services for eligible refugees, asylees and other immigrants: Green card applications (I-485 permanent residence), US citizenship applications (N-400 naturalization), Green card replacements (I-90), and Work Permits (I-765 employment authorization).
  • Minnesota Council of Churches Refugee Services – (612) 874-8605 – Immigration Legal Services primarily provides the following services for refugees, asylees and eligible populations in the Twin Cities and Mankato area: Adjustment of status (Form I-485) for refugees, asylees and eligible Cubans, Apply for US Citizenship (Form N-400), and Work Permit (Form I-765) only for eligible populations.
  • Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota 1-800-223-1368 –  A nonprofit organization that provides free immigration legal representation to low-income immigrants and refugees in Minnesota and North Dakota. See their website for current phone intake hours. Detention Intake line: 1-651-641-1011
  • The Advocates for Human Rights1-612-341-9845 – The Advocates represents people in the Upper Midwest who are seeking asylum, detained by immigration, unaccompanied children, or trafficking victims.
