“Miss Burma” Author Visits KOM

On June 6, the KOM staff had the honor of meeting Charmaine Craig, the daughter of Karen freedom fighter and Miss Myanmar winner Naw Louisa Benson. Craig recently published her book “Miss Burma” that captures her mother’s story fighting for the freedom of the Karen people. The book also shares the story of the Karen resistance in Burma and the beginning of Karen refugee resettlement in the U.S. If you’re looking for something to read this summer, we highly recommend her book!
