KOM’s Marshall Office was mentioned in the Marshall Independent newspaper for receiving a grant from the United Way of Southwest Minnesota toward their Pathways to a Healthy Life Program. The program will be focused on financial literacy, healthy eating and physical activities.
Some of the topics that they will cover in relation to financial literacy include building credit, bank accounts, budgeting, home ownership and more. They are partnering with the University of Minnesota Extension Office in Marshall on healthy eating, and with the local YMCA and the City of Marshall’s Emergency Preparedness Office on physical activities.
They started the program in October, and will hold it regularly during the monthly Karen meetings.
