Mary Burlingame leads a discussion on financial goal setting with Karen community members in Marshall, MN.
KOM’s Marshall office has been busy staying involved with the community in Marshall, MN. They had two regular meetings during the month of March. Mary Burlingame from Southwest Minnesota Housing Partnership led the regular Karen monthly meeting and her topic was about financial goal setting. She helped participants determine what they want to save for and establish goals. She also invited the group to participate in the Earn Savings Program, where participants can have their savings doubly matched after six months. Pastor Greg Linscott from First Baptist Church in Marshall led a discussion in the Karen Leadership Cohort meeting. He shared about the importance of staying with your principles and not letting distractions take you away from them. He also shared about being a servant leader and the consequences of pride in leadership.
