Connection for Caregivers

Are you finding the journey of caring for someone over 60 challenging? You’re not alone. Our Caregivers Support Program is here to assist you through the mental and physical demands of caregiving. We offer personalized support, connecting caregivers with the services their care recipients need most, from information access through various channels like telephone counseling and in-person visits, to supportive and educational group activities.

What We Do

Our program focuses on equipping you with the knowledge and skills necessary for both your well-being and that of your loved one. Through individual, family, and group meetings, we delve into crucial topics such as self-care, conflict resolution, suicide prevention, at-risk falls, and stress management. Our approach is hands-on, providing person-to-person training and educational sessions tailored to specific areas of interest, ensuring you have practical guidance at every turn.

 Peer-to-Peer Support

One of the core strengths of our program is the emphasis on learning how to support each other. The feedback we’ve received highlights the transformative impact of sharing experiences and strategies within our support groups. It underscores the power of community and mutual aid in navigating the complexities of caregiving.

Caring For Yourself

Moreover, our program is an opportunity to deepen your understanding of self-care and stress management. Caring for someone else begins with caring for yourself, and our resources aim to teach caregivers how to manage their own stress and burdens effectively. This holistic focus ensures that both you and those you care for are supported throughout your caregiving journey.

How To Join

We invite you to join us, not just to seek help, but to become part of a community that understands and shares your challenges and triumphs. Our program runs all year until December 24th, welcoming caregivers 18 and older. Whether you’re reaching out for yourself or to ease the caregiving journey for someone else, we’re here for you.

For more information or to join our program, contact Hta Thi Yu Moo at hmoo@mnkaren.org or call 651-202-3107. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those we care for and in our own.
