Lah Tha Pwee was born in a Thai refugee camp and lived there for 11 years before moving to the U.S. She came to Minnesota in the summer of 2008 with her two parents. Lah Tha Pwee graduated from Humboldt High School and continued her education at Metropolitan State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work in December of 2019.

Before joining KOM as a Youth & Family Coach, Lah Tha Pwee was a social work intern at Humboldt High School working with Karen students. She loves helping people and is looking forward to encouraging youth to further their education and reach their goals. As she put it, “the youth will be the future leaders for our community,” and so she is excited for this opportunity to work closer with them. In 2022, Lah transitioned into the role of Youth Programs and Partnerships Manager.

Currently, Lah Tha Pwee is also pursuing a Master’s Degree of Social Work.
