Kenzie Libbesmeier, MSW, LGSW joined KOM as the Youth Health Program Manager in May 2024.
Before coming to KOM, Kenzie was employed as a mental health case manager and social worker with the Healing Hearts program through the Center for Victims of Torture (CVT). Prior to that, she spent 3 years as a social worker at the M Health Fairview Roselawn Clinic. In both of her previous roles, Kenzie provided a wide range of clinical social work interventions including care coordination, advocacy, education, short-term supportive counseling, and psychosocial assessment to effectively identify + address barriers preventing Karen and Karenni refugees from accessing necessary services and navigating the U.S. healthcare system. She has worked closely with primary care providers and other healthcare professionals as a highly valued member of their interdisciplinary care teams.
Kenzie received her B.A. in Social Work from Bethel University in 2018, and her MSW with an emphasis in Clinical Practice with Immigrants and Refugees from the University of St. Thomas in 2022. She is deeply passionate about continuing to serve the Karen and Karenni refugee communities in St. Paul, MN with a particular interest in familial psychoeducation and group work with Karen adolescents who are struggling with mental health and substance use disorders.
