Position Title: Collaboration Facilitator 

Reports to: Arash Yousufi, Program Director 

Status: Full time with benefits 

Salary Range: $60,000 to $65,000 depending on qualifications

Position Summary: 

KOM, as the Lead Agency for the Family Education Supports Collaborative, is seeking a Collaboration Facilitator who will be responsible for driving forward the collective work of partner agencies within the collaborative. This role is distinct from program management or direct service, focusing instead on effective coordination and fulfilling Lead Agency accountabilities. The Collaboration Facilitator will utilize strong facilitation skills and leadership capacities to foster collaboration and ensure that all partners are aligned in delivering high-quality services.  This role requires the ability to facilitate collective action among diverse partners, support their contributions, and guide the partnership toward shared goals. The Collaboration Facilitator will work closely with the Lead Family Education Mentor, partner agency managers, and direct staff to ensure seamless communication, coordination, and achievement of collaborative priorities.  

 

Responsibilities: 

Facilitating Collaboration and Collective Work:  

  • Drive the collective work of the partners by fostering a collaborative environment where all agencies work toward shared goals and objectives.  
  • Facilitate meetings internally and with various types of stake holders, including preparing agendas, recording meeting minutes, and emailing out meeting summaries with task deadlines.    
  • Disseminate information (verbally and in writing) clearly and concisely amongst and between managers, funders, direct service staff, contractors, and volunteers.   
  • Gather, share, and evaluate relevant information from within or outside and support interagency managers in making effective decisions and implementing actions.   
  • Encourage open dialogue and shared ownership of the collaborative’s vision, ensuring that all voices are heard and included in decision-making.  

Managing and Distributing Pooled Funds:  

  • Oversee the distribution of pooled funds in accordance with the Lead Agency’s responsibilities, ensuring transparency, equity, and alignment with collaborative goals.  
  • Monitor the use of funds across partner agencies, ensuring that expenditures are in line with agreed-upon budgets and activities.  
  • Provide regular updates to partners and stakeholders on fund distribution and financial accountability.  

Facilitation of Partner Coordination:  

  • Act as the central point of coordination for partner agencies, ensuring that all services and activities are aligned with the collaborative’s strategic priorities.  
  • Support new-staff onboarding by leading introductory training, scheduling funder-provided trainings with appropriate staff, and facilitating job shadowing amongst partner agencies.    
  • Facilitate the sharing of best practices, tools, and resources among partners to promote collective learning and capacity-building.  
  • Support the Lead Family Education Mentor in coordinating the day-to-day implementation of services on the ground, ensuring that services are delivered consistently across all partners.  

Resettlement Network Coordination: 

  • Work closely with Collaborative Leads in other Resettlement Network services to ensure cohesive and coordinated services and problem-solve issues that arise. 
  • Work with RPO to implement strategies to improve network-wide service delivery. 
  • Work with RPO and RPO-funded Immigrant Services (state-funded) service partners to develop and support cross-program referral processes. 
  • Work with collaborative service hubs (as developed) and greater MN providers to ensure effective service delivery access and coordination in regional contexts. 

Volunteer Coordination:  

  • Coordinate and incorporate opportunities for volunteer engagement and Resettlement Corps member placement within the collaborative as appropriate 
  • Leads the development and implementation of a shared volunteer management process including recruitment, training, and retention.  

Ensuring Accountability and Consistency:  

  • Ensure that all partners are fulfilling their responsibilities in terms of service delivery, reporting, and adherence to collaborative processes.  
  • Collaborate with the Lead Family Education Mentor to ensure that policies, processes, and tools are used consistently across the collaborative.  
  • Work with consortium partners to establish or revise mechanisms for partner accountability, under-performance, and conflict resolution.    
  • Address any challenges or issues that arise within the partnership, working with the Lead Agency management and partner agency managers to find solutions.  

Monitoring and Evaluation:  

  • Work with partners to establish and monitor performance indicators, ensuring that the collaborative is meeting its goals and objectives.  
  • Use data and feedback from partners to make informed decisions and adjustments to the collaboration strategy.  
  • Identify consortium-wide training gaps and find trainers/educational resources.   
  • Report regularly on the progress and success of the collaborative.  

Community Engagement: 

  • Serve as visible and public-facing access point for services and information source for communities. 
  • Develop and lead plan for external stakeholder engagement across the Service Collaborative, including with served populations and key community partners. 
  • Represent Service Collaborative in community meetings, committees, consultations, including regional resettlement consultation meetings and others. 
  • Work with RPO to incorporate relevant community feedback into service delivery. 

Collaboration with the Lead Family Education Mentor and Partner Agencies:  

  • Work in close partnership with the Lead Family Education Mentor to ensure that the collaborative’s priorities, processes, and policies are being implemented effectively at the service delivery level.  
  • Engage with managers and directors from partner agencies to ensure that collaboration is seamless and that all agencies are working together to meet the needs of participants.  
  • Facilitate strong relationships between direct service staff ensuring a cohesive and united approach to service delivery.  

 

Required Minimum Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, nonprofit management, or related field, or equivalent experience.  
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in facilitating partnerships, coalitions, or collaborative efforts, preferably in the nonprofit or human services sector.  
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills with the ability to manage diverse stakeholders and foster a collaborative environment.  
  • Ability to think strategically and guide collective decision-making processes.  
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.  
  • Proficiency in using virtual collaboration tools (MS Teams or other platforms) to facilitate partner engagement.  
  • Commitment to cultural competency, equity, and inclusion in working with diverse communities.  

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in working with RPO (ORR) -funded programs and an understanding of the specific needs of refugee families.  
  • Ability to facilitate collective leadership, promoting shared decision-making and ownership among partners.  
  • Knowledge of best practices in partnership building and collaboration within a nonprofit or community-based context.  

 

The Collaboration Facilitator plays a vital role in ensuring the success of the Family Education Supports Collaborative by promoting effective coordination, empowering partners, and ensuring that the collective work of the partnership is driven forward in alignment with shared goals. This role is integral to ensuring that partner agencies work cohesively and that services for refugee families are delivered effectively and consistently.
