Hello! My name is Sophie Clausen and I am the Design, Social Media, and Writing as well as the Fundraising Support and Event Planning intern here at the Karen Organization of Minnesota. I will primarily be working with my advisors and peers to collect and tell stories through social media, drafting newsletters, and taking photos as well as assisting in communications/promotional material and helping with fundraising events.

On a personal level, I am a Senior at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and I’ll be graduating with a Bachelors degree in English in the winter. I grew up in Saint Paul so I am very excited to be working within a community I am close to and know so dearly! I like to read, write, draw, go on hikes, and play music.

I look forward to getting to know KOM as a non-profit and as a community in itself. I am excited to draw on what I learn from this internship and from the people who make up KOM, both employees and community members alike, to create empowering communication material.
