Sarah Shapiro was born and raised in the Minneapolis suburbs. She attended Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in social work and a minor in teaching English as a second language. She has worked as an AmeriCorps VISTA, an Employment Navigator, a school library media specialist, and with students with disabilities.

Before coming to KOM she worked at National Theatre for Children, where she contacted schools to offer them educational theatre programming. Sarah is very glad to be working in the employment world again at KOM and hopes to support the students in the AMR program well as they enter jobs in the trades. She also wants to make more connections with quality employers who want to train and are invested in retaining our program graduates.

When not working, Sarah likes reading and spending time outdoors.
