KOM could not offer services at the level it does without the many partnerships it has made with local organizations and entities. KOM’s partners include specialists from local government; partners from higher education; healthcare, faith-based communities; local employers and other Karen community grassroots organizations. Arrive Ministries
Arrive Ministries provides immigration services at KOM's office.
CAPI
KOM partners with CAPI and Vietnamese Social Services (VSS) to help people access health insurance through MNsure. KOM, CAPI, and VSS also collaborate on outreach to engage Southeast Asian Minnesotans in elections and the 2020 Census.
Century College
KOM partners with Century College to offer interpreter and CNA classes to adults as part of the Career Pathways program.
East Side Employment xChange
KOM joined the xChange in 2021 to collaborate with other workforce development providers, employers, and funders to create more equitable and more numerous employment opportunities on the East Side of St. Paul.
East Side Freedom Library
The ESFL provides space for the Karen Weaving Circle to meet.
East Side Health & Wellbeing Collaborative
KOM serves on a task force of this M Health Fairview-hosted initiative to improve mental health and food access on the East Side of St. Paul and hosts a full-time Karen Cultural Broker supporting over 100 households annually.
Guadalupe Alternative Programs
KOM provide extra support to the CNA class at Guadalupe Alternative Programs (GAP School) as part of our Career Pathways program.
M Health Fairview
M Health Fairview partners with KOM on the Karen Chemical Dependency Programs.
Minnesota Department of Health
KOM leads an MDH-funded collaborative of 4 Asian-led organizations delivering culturally responsive suicide and family violence prevention education to their communities.
Minnesota Department of Human Services Resettlement Programs Office/Metro Refugee Resettlement Network
KOM is part of a network of over 15 agencies in the Twin Cities supporting refugees who have been in the U.S. for less than 5 years. KOM is a funded partner in RPO’s Metro Employment, Family Assister, and Youth & Family Coach networks and refers participants to additional MRRN services in Immigration and Community Orientation Workshops.
Karen Chemical Dependency Collaborative
KOM partners with KCDC to offer culturally-specific outpatient treatment to refugees from Burma using alcohol and drugs.
Korean Service Center
The Korean Service Center provides elders and health programming in collaboration with KOM.
LISC Twin Cities Financial Opportunity Center Network
LISC’s national FOC model integrates employment services, financial coaching, and income supports to help low-income households increase earnings and build wealth. KOM joined the Twin Cities FOC network of 9 agencies in 2020 and began providing FOC services in 2021 after extensive staff training and program development.
Roseville Adult Learning Center
KOM has collaborated with RALC to develop 5 Adult Career Pathways programs with extended contextualized adult education tailored to meet the needs of English learners seeking career advancement. KOM also provides contracted transportation for RALC students to attend literacy classes.
Saint Paul Public Schools
KOM partners with SPPS to support K-12 students during the school day through the Youth & Family Coach program, lead after-school Karen Club in Humboldt, Harding, Washington, and Como schools, and offer social work support for students and families at Humboldt and Como.
Tickets for Kids
Tickets for Kids provides complimentary activity passes for students and mentors involved with KOM's Youth Program.
WellShare International
WellShare International partners with KOM to offer health education.
