DESCRIPTION:Join us on December 26th at the Washington Technology Magnet school to celebrate Karen New Years! \nThe celebration lasts the whole day\, however\, you can come and go as needed! The main program goes from 9:30am-12:00pm\, with the entertainment continuing from 12:00pm-3:00pm. From 3:30pm to 8:30pm there will be the opportunity to hear from some of Minnesota’s most famous Karen singers. \nThere will also be a volleyball tournament during the day and activities for kids! SUMMARY:69th Anniversary of Karen Martyr's Day
DESCRIPTION:Join us and the whole Minnesota Karen community to celebrate the 69th Anniversary of Karen Martyr’s Day on Saturday\, August 10th and Sunday\, August 11th\, 2019. There will be a main ceremony on Saturday morning\, sports competitions throughout both days\, plenty of food vendors\, and more! \nThis year\, the event will be held at Hazelwood Park in Maplewood\, MN. \nKaren Martyr’s Day is officially on August 12 and commemorates the anniversary of the death of Saw Ba U Gyi (the first president of the Karen National Union) in 1950. Others who have fought for the Karen are also honored in remembrance of the Karen resistance. \nMore detailed information in the flyer below: \n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nParking information:  \nThere are two parking lots to the park. One on the North side and the other on the South side of the park. Another parking lot is located at Community Dental Care. (See the photo to the right) \nPlease keep in mind that event parking is $10. Cash accepted only. The event itself is free. \nParking at the 1st Evangelical Church is for volunteers only.\nVolunteers please be aware that on Sunday there is no parking at the church from the morning until 1pm CT.
