SUMMARY:76th Commemoration of Karen Martyrs' Day
DESCRIPTION:This year’s Karen Martyrs’ Day ceremony will be held on Saturday\, August 15th 2026 at Ebenezer Karen Baptist Church in Maplewood\, MN. This year’s event marks the 76th commemoration and will include the main ceremony honoring martyrs followed by a community lunch and song performances. \n  \nAll are welcome to honor the history of this day which commemorates the anniversary of the death of Saw Ba U Gyi (one of the early leaders of the Karen National Union) in 1950. This day also honors all who have fought for the Karen in remembrance of the Karen resistance. \nJoin us for an opportunity to pass on traditions to the younger generation. \nMore details to come soon. \nPhoto from last year’s Karen Martyrs’ Day Ceremony in Austin\, MN in 2025.
