Job Title: Activities Coordinator (New Arrival Programs) 

Job Location: Hybrid between office/field trip sites in the Seven County Metro and virtually from home 

KOM Address: 2353 Rice St., Suite 240, Roseville, MN 55113  

Status: Temporary, 40 hours/week, some nights & weekends  

Salary: $22.00-$25.00 per hour 

Benefits: This position is not benefits eligible 

Reports To: Ashley Daniels, Program Manager

Position Description: 

Join KOM as an Activities Coordinator providing support to a team of youth staff serving newly arrived refugee and other humanitarian protected youth! The Coordinator will be required to work with staff across several partner agencies within the Twin Cities metro area to support the roll out of a jointly coordinated summer and after-school activities.  

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Attending regular meetings with youth staff to finalize programming plans 
  • Collectively problem solving 
  • Collecting information from all members of the team needed to organize logistics of events/activities 
  • Communicating with leadership across several partner agencies on updates or challenges 
  • Reach out to potential activity partners or sites to gather information about restrictions, capacity, hours and dates of operation, fees and if there are discounted rates for groups, etc 
  • Plan activities and curriculum for after-school and summer programs  
  • Assist in finding tutoring partners and organizations  
  • Engage with external resources and organizations to secure space, materials, or tickets/passes, 
  • Coordinate transportation plans in partnership with youth staff which may include renting vans/busses, organizing pickup routes, ordering Lyft/Uber rides, purchasing bus passes/tokens or gas cards, etc. 
  • Collaborate and strategize with Consortium Coordinator 

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Extremely organized, with a preference for those who have experience planning/coordinating events or activities for larger groups 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Able to track expenses and make decisions based on a fixed budget 
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems collaboratively 
  • Able to travel to and be present at activity sites while programming is running 
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, and no moving violations on record within the past 3 years 
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
