Soe Doh

Soe Doh was born in Karen State, Burma. His family sent him to a Thai school at the age of 5 to study abroad. In 1998, Soe’s family fled to Thailand due to the Burmese government oppression and settled in Maneeloy refugee camp.

In August 2000, Soe got the chance to resettle to San Francisco, California. He attended high school there and then went to college. He received his B.A. in Corporate Finance from San Francisco State University in 2010. While in school, he worked as an accountant for PricewaterhouseCoopers.

In 2013, Soe and his brothers opened an auto repair shop called SKD Auto Tek, the first Karen-owned auto shop in Saint Paul. In 2015, Soe moved to Minnesota to help with the day-to-day operation of the shop. The same year he moved to Minnesota, Soe saw the opportunity in the auto industry and decided to open an auto transport business to provide jobs to other Karen refugees. He continues to work as the owner of both companies and still does tax preparation/consultation to individuals and small businesses on the side. He joined KOM’s board in 2016.
