KOM Services for Karen and Burmese Refugees

Employment Services

The Karen Organization of Minnesota (“KOM”) is dedicated to finding employment opportunities for the Karen and Burmese refugees. KOM knows that in order for families to be self sufficient, steady employment is a necessity. KOM assists the Karen and Burmese refugees by providing job training, employment counseling and enrollment in English classes. Learn more about KOM employment services

Social Services

One of the primary goals of KOM is to provide social services to meet the needs of the Karen and Burmese refugee community. KOM is actively seeking grants and donations to offer more services and to enhance those already provided. Currently, KOM is in partnership with Arrive Ministries to provide social services to the Karen and Burmese refugee community in Minnesota. Learn more about KOM social services

Training and Orientation Services

Training Services at KOM include financial literacy, leadership, bus training and law enforcement. Learn more about KOM training services

Gardening Program

Partnering with Arrive Ministries, we provide opportunities for refugees from Burma to return to their roots in farming. Learn more about KOM Restorative Farming services

Karen Empowering Youth for Success Program (KEYS)

Youth Services at KOM include Academic Tutoring, Socialization Education, Mental Health Referral and Assistance, and Leadership Training. Learn more about KOM youth services
