Enhancing the quality of life for all refugees from Burma in Minnesota
Make a Difference
It takes many caring people to welcome the Karen and other refugees from Burma into our community. You can help refugees from Burma succeed in Minnesota by supporting KOM with your time, talents, and resources. Contact Rebekah Jacobson at (651) 202-3112 or firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more about any of these opportunities:
Monetary Gifts: Individual donations help KOM fill in the gaps for needs that aren't being met by other service providers such as providing transportation, translating resources, assisting police and families during emergencies, and helping walk-in clients with their various needs. Visit our donations page to donate online.
In-Kind Donations:We are no longer accepting clothing donations at KOM. Please contact KOM if you are interested in donating personal care items, school supplies, winter coats, or other items. KOM accepts donations on an as-needed basis.
Volunteer: KOM volunteers assist with youth mentoring, interpretation/translation, data entry, public transit training, driving clients to appointments and more. Fill out our online volunteer application.
Join Our Events: Click on our events page to learn more about events hosted by KOM and the Karen community including Karen New Year, Karen Wrist Tying Ceremony, and KOM's Annual Gala. Photos of these events can also be found on our Facebook page.
Invite Us to Your Events: Invite a KOM representative to your school, place of worship, workplace, or other civic group to share the Karen experience with the broader community.
Ta blut doe mah (Thank you very much) for your support!
